High-speed bearings generally have much higher rated speeds compared to regular bearings. For example, if the bearing's rated speed is 5000 RPM, 10,000 RPM, or higher, it is designed for high-speed applications. High-speed bearings are often made from ceramic materials.

Ceramic bearings are used In high-speed applications, such as turbines, high-speed electrical machines, machining spindles, turbo blowers and turbo compressors.
Advantage of ceramic bearings:
Firstly, due to the higher elastic modulus of ceramics compared to steel, they are less prone to deformation under stress, which is beneficial for improving working speed and achieving higher precision.
Secondly, due to the fact that ceramics are almost not afraid of corrosion, ceramic rolling bearings are suitable for operation under harsh conditions filled with corrosive media.
Thirdly, ceramics are less affected by thermal expansion and contraction than steel, so when the clearance between bearings is constant, they can allow bearings to work in environments with significant temperature differences.
Fourthly, due to the lower density and lighter weight of ceramic rolling balls compared to steel, the outer ring is centrifuged during rotation
